In the Democratic Republic of Congo, at one of Africa's biggest gold mines, DTP Mining teams are working hard to extract some 110 million bcm of materials over a 12-year period. A total of 260 million tonnes of materials will be moved from four identified pits over an area of almost 700 hectares.
The project is located on Halmahera Island, in the North Maluku Province of the Republic of Indonesia, approximately 2,450 kilometers north east of the national capital, Jakarta. PT Byrnecut Indonesia and PT Newcrest Halmahera established an alliance agreement to undertake the mining activities at the Kencana Underground Mine in 2006.
